The Brookline Tab has a cover story on bike lanes. (Yes, that's yours truly in the picture. Fortunately, black is slimming.)Newton is going to have to struggle with the two camps represented in the article: those who believe a separate zone is better for bicyclists and those who believe bicyclists are best served when they are included in the traffic flow. Here at NS&S, we're in the first camp, though there has to be plenty of care given to the dangers of dooring and right-turning traffic at intersections. Ultimately, a separate zone is going to get more people out on bikes and there's safety in numbers.
