As the automobile market craters around us, it's useful to consider the budgetary implications. In FY 2008, the Motor Vehicle Excise tax brought in $10,801,981. In FY 2009, it's expected to bring in just a shade less: $10,800,000.
The excise tax accounts for just 4% of total revenue, but a significant drop in the excise tax won't be nothing. Anybody think we'll get anywhere close to $10.8 million?
